Francisco Costa has been the Creative Director of the Calvin Klein Collection for women since 2003. Having worked directly under Calvin Klein before assuming the role, Costa maintains the brand’s uncomplicated, minimalist aesthetic while focusing on strong tailoring and infusing the garments with architectural details, geometric accents, and unexpected materials. His work for the label has received critical acclaim and Costa was named Womenswear Designer of the Year by the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 2006 and 2008. A native of Brazil, Costa studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and later went on to work for top design houses including Bill Blass, Gucci, Balmain Couture, and Oscar de la Renta.
